The Markt in Bruges is one of the city's open squares. It is famous for the the carillon that plays in the Belfry.

The medieval belfry tower (13th-15th century) is 288 feet high and houses the famous 47-bell carillon which can be heard in this short film.

The buildings surrounding the Markt house cafes, shops and restaurants. One can spend a wonderful hour or two over a coffee or a meal and listen to the carillon playing.
